LG Extravert resizes pictures when you text them or send to Email!

This is very frustrating!!!   Why does it re-sized photos to thumbnail size when sent?   Any one who receives them on other phones can't even make out what the picture is because the resolution is soooooo bad!   Is there a fix for this....this definitely wasn't explained to me when I purchased the phone!!!   I assume it is done to reduce image sizes to free up bandwidth on network from us pre-paid plan users....it is rediculous.......Is there a fix for this???   I have read other online forums about it...and have found no fix.....I trusted the salesman at the Verizon store....reluctantly...and here we go....can this be fixed or do I have to take the phone back and most likely take my business elsewhere?

I just talked to customer service....there is no fix at this time!!!!   If you plan on sending pictures via text and actually want people to see them in resolution greater than 160x120...then don't buy this phone!!!!   The only way to get your pictures in their actual size is to plug the phone directly into your computer!   In this day and age....this is totally rediculous!!!   They really dropped the ball on this when they designed the phone!   Other people can not even make out the pics on larger screens because the resolution is so very low.   I am upset and may have to switch carriers...since the Extravert is the only phone in the prepaid plan that is not very basic!!!!    The salesman definitely did not explain any of this to me when I cancelled my plan and switched to prepay....I would like to send pictures of my kids to their grandparents and actually have them be able to recognize what they are seeing.........but unless I do it from a computer...I can't!!!!   I might as well use my digital camera cause this problem renders the camera basically useless!!!   It even resizes the pics small when you email them or even send them to your online album....needless to say....I am VERY UPSET and FRUSTRATED with this product!!!!!!

The salesman claimed that it resizes it so small because otherwise it would take 10 minutes to send it...because it is on the 1X network....not 3G.   Which to me doesn't make sense because when I send the pictures...the file size is 263K....which is pretty decent size for a phone...they are just in the 160x120 resolution....doesn't make sense with a file that large why the resolution is so small!   Frustrating!!!  My only recourse is to take the phone back within 14 days of purchase and they tell me pay a $35 restocking fee....because they don't consider that to be a problem!

I'm sure they could make a software update that would correct this!!!

I just discovered this problem as well when posting pictures from my phone to Facebook... I had the camera set on the 1600x1200 resolution and it made the picture once it got to Facebook quite small.  I changed the resolution to 640x480 and the pictures now come out to a more normal size.  Haven't tried sending one to my own email or another phone yet.  I recall my Samsung Intensity doing the same thing, so it's not just this phone.

I found a post on another website about this which proposes a kind of a fix.....after you take a picture....open the edit photo mode....then immediately save it to phone....then send it.  for some reason this will help.   Instead of sending the photo 120x160 and 263Kb  it makes it smaller (46Kb) but increases the pixels to 640x480 so it is a better visual quality.   This helps a little...but it would be really nice to be able to send a larger picture size!   To you at Verizon....could you please work on a software update that will correct this!!!!!   Pretty Please!

get a usb cord at walmart for 14 it is a data cable and charging one...plug it into your phone and plug it into your computer and download what comes up and it will update your phone and fix that problem...and with that cord you can transfer photos music and what ever from your computer to your phone..it is a very useful cord.for that phone

Here is how you send pics from your phone. Facebook has a specific upload email address thats personalized for you. To find that email address go to account settings, then mobile, and then at the bottom of the section, it says Post-By-Email Address. It will look like this for example: postbyemail@m.facebook.com

Hope this helps out!

Please fix this sizing issue already Verizon.  It's been long enough and reflects very poorly on you.  Good reception doesn't guarantee you a loyal customer base.
