If your phone was set for daily backups already via Backup Assistant then it should still be performing those backups normally to the website. You can check My Verizon to see if you can view yours here: http://spr.ly/6586BItcK. Our stores may also be able to retrieve those contacts so long as they're being transferred to another device at the time of retrieval. Text and picture messages cannot be backed up for that device.
