I am looking at several Verizon phones. Not interested in Apple products and Samsung is being pushed everywhere. I love Windows, so I was attracted to the HTC One (M8) for Windows phone as soon as it was available. However, I spend money wisely since I am retired. Is this a great phone, as indicated by the user reviews? How about the bundle which includes the Dot View case, which has received mixed reviews. I noted that CNET has not included the Windows phone in its top Verizon phones for 2014 list.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
M8 just came out with windows. Windows doesn't get a lot of fanfair and marketing hasn't been stellar compared to Apple and Samsung. I have the M8 as a windows phone and as an android device(I bought both). The dot view is OK but I don't use them much. The flap design bugs me.
Best bet personally is don't take the reviews like they are the facts. Every person has different needs. Try them out before buying and don't let overzealous reps push you around.
Also don't lock your self into Verizon if you can! Look at what AT&T has. If you purchase the phone out right you can sometimes use it with a different company, sometime not. A couple a weeks ago now I was at AT&T and their no contract plan was cheaper than anything Verizon was offering, the catch was you had to supply your own phone. Also if you are look at a Windows phone AT&T has more to choose from and several have some features that are better than any offered by Verizon. In addition you can get the Cyan firmware update and Windows 8.1 on the AT&T network, you CAN'T on Verizon!
WRONG! The 8.1 comes Pre-installed on the HTC One M8 for Windows.
Glad to hear that! Thank you for the correction. I still say look elsewhere for service if you can and DON'T get the "discounted" phone from Verizon! If you can get it unlocked do so. If you can get it unlocked AND usable on other companies network I would!
Every 4G LTE phone from Verizon comes unlocked no matter how you purchase it.
