I've been away from the forum for a while, but decided to drop in to post on just that subject.  I just tweeted and posted on their facebook page, that MS has gone to RTM on Mango, so here's to the hope that Verizon is not the last carrier on the planet to implement it.

I have been using Mango on my Trophy since June 30, and boy, is it nice.  It's really handy to send and receive texts while driving, and do it SAFELY - with the phone in the case on my belt, being able to hear and reply to texts without ever touching it or taking my eyes off the road.  Local Scout is neat, as well.  Fast app switching...  On my build the twitter and LinkedIn integration isn't activated yet, but that'll be nice as well.  Talking to your phone has never been so good.

Verizon, everyone who waited out your unreasonalbly late launch of a Windows Phone deserves to get this update without delay.

I wholeheartedly concur with this post.  Verizon needs to test Mango quickly and bring some compelling devices (the rumored WP7 Samsung Galaxy II phone would be a good start).  I just saying Verizon...I figure you guys would like to lock me into a contract again at some point this decade...

I fully agree...

You can hope Mango is the update that is coming next (not 7392) but that is mostly wishful thinking.

Knowing Verizon they'll stall and schedule Mango for after a shiny new (likely 4G given the chipset of Mango devices) WP7 device is on market this Fall if for nothing else but to make it appear worth $199 on contract vs the Trophy.

Verizon doesn't think progressively or ever exhibit a pro-consumer attitude (that's why i pulled 5 smartphone accounts and counting from them).

Thought I'd stop by and see what the cognescenti are saying about mango showing up on Verizon.

I agree with Hopmedic's post-

Given all the xxxx we dished out in the spring over the Trophy being released, you'd think they would take advantage of an opportunity to turn the tables a bit by being ready in September along with the rest of the carriers - by then they will have had a full 6 weeks with the new bits to prep for it- If they do drag thier feet, I'm ready to start dishing it out again.  I have another contract ending in a few weeks, and a third in October-  and I'm going to hold renewing them to see what they do and what (if any) new phones they release in the comming months to go along with Mango.

By the rules of MS.  I think mango won't come and more than likely the one after that will.  They are only obligated to go with 1 major release, and that's at the mercy of the MANUFACTURER and not the carrier.  You need to bring it up with the manufacturers.

Even at $50 the trophy isn't selling, I'm sure it will be a free phone soon...good luck with this quest buddy

That's a pretty uninformed comment given you can already install the RTM mango bits on the Trophy and people have been running the beta on Trophy since June. Sounds like you've been hanging out in the Rhoid fanboy forums....The question is weather there will be an officially supported upgrade path or we need to do it on our own.

There seems to be some confusion on other threads weather or not Verizon will be involved with distributing Mango, or we'll just pull it down from the Marketplace. Has anyone confirmed comments on some of the other threads that Mango will be available to anyone with WP7 via marketplace or if Verizon has to be involved?
