Talk about my credibility, and you guys are the ones name calling...  and the ones calling me a troll.  If I find that link and the source I expect an apology from both of you.  As I stated numerous times I am not into the whole iOS vs. Android vs. WP7 bullhonky.  I expect people to use what they like without having to justify themselves.

Ok first off... You agreed with the fact that MS allows a major update to be skipped right?  Now you know that MS will only do 1 major update a year right?  So a device will get 1 major update by EOL(usually 18 months, unless it's a huge seller).  Minor updates can always be skipped and is at anyones discretion.  So unless you are planning to keep your devices for longer than 3 years you will more than likely see 1 update.  With the way people now-a-days upgrade as soon as it's available these days...  1 major update is all you will see...
You will see what I am talking about eventually.  It's nice to have your hopes up I guess and you love your products to put other people down to make yourself feel better.  I will wait for one of you two to start complaining about the update process and you couldn't believe you missed the memo.
Don't  worry I am still looking for that interview which he explained what they are they doing about updates.

We read your responses completely. They are devoid of evidence to support your claims, they are somewhat off topic and they are inflamatory towards the rest of us who are asking/demanding that Verizon provide us withsupported updates in a timely maner- particularly for Mango.

First you baited the original discussion posting it wasn't the carrier's we should be complaining about . Then you dish out underhanded insults suggesting people should learn how to program at the sytem level after disputing your claims that the manufacturer as opposed to the CARRIER is responsible for updates on thier network,  then you start tossing in FUD about updates adding yet another one of those references you swear exists but can't find (taking the discussion further off topic). All without a shred of evidence published by Microsoft, Verizon or HTC.... That pretty much IS trolling.

FACT:

-You were wrong about who's on the hook for the updates - the CARRIERS not the OEMs,

-You have no hard verifyable information regarding Verizon's support plans for Mango on the Trophy.

- You don't have a Trophy so this doesn't effect you - you have no stake in this discussion,

- You represent neither Verizon. HTC or Microsoft

So unless you can provide some referenceable source to add to the discussion, you have no business commenting here other than to TROLL for an argument.

The whole point of this discussion was that Mango has RTMd , and because of the history with Verizon and Windows Phone 7 and thier general track record for taking forever and a day to approve Microsoft based devices and software updates for support,, some of us have elected raise the issue with VERIZON-

As far as your expectations for an applogy are concerned, you are setting yourself up for dissapointment-  I already appologized for calling you misinformed-  the best you'll get from here on troll is a thank you for clarifying your comments-

Thank you Paul-D

So to put it ciompletley back on course, perhaps you can settle the debate here  by having someone from Verizon provide some information regarding Verizon's plans supporting the Mango bits?

And if you are serious about mutual respect, kindly do not suggest we look on Microsoft's page to see when it is available.

No you didn't because you attacked everything without even bother reading it.  First off where did I post anything inflamitory in my first post?  I am willing to bet the first post right after was inflamotiry with the first 3 sentences. So please spare me.  Timely manner?  I thought you were a programmer or someone was...  Nothing is ever timely in software...

How did I bait it? I said what I have read and seen coming out of some companies mouth.  People didn't like it then say something different.  I guess I would have gotten a different response if I owned a trophy?  Double Standard right there if you ask me.  When I find that article that had a video of the interview(See below).

FACT:

-You were wrong about who's on the hook for the updates - the CARRIERS not the OEMs,

Where's the proof on this.  As I pointed out carriers have very little to do with actual development UNLESS there is major changes to the radio firmware which Mango does not do.  The manufacturer has a larger concern to make sure it works for the Trophy.

-You have no hard verifyable information regarding Verizon's support plans for Mango on the Trophy.

Neither do you.

- You don't have a Trophy so this doesn't effect you - you have no stake in this discussion,

If you read I am watching how it goes before I make the leap.  I want to see how WP7 is handled before buying one.  Check back I believe in the first page of this thread.  I care not WP7, Android, iOS arguments.  What matters to me is battery life and the apps I want/need are present.  So far WP7 doesn't have the apps or something comparable to what I want.  That doesn't mean I will never buy one as I am willing to give it time to mature.

- You represent neither Verizon. HTC or Microsoft

Neither are you who knows what's going to happen.  I already look at the trend and I actually expect 1 major update for all devices regardless of carriers as EOL is generally 18 months unless it sells well(Trend for all devices).

So unless you can provide some referenceable source to add to the discussion, you have no business commenting here other than to TROLL for an argument.

When I find it I will post it and expect an apology for all the remarks.

The whole point of this discussion was that Mango has RTMd , and because of the history with Verizon and Windows Phone 7 and thier general track record for taking forever and a day to approve Microsoft based devices and software updates for support,, some of us have elected raise the issue with VERIZON-

How can there be history?  This is the FIRST WP7 device on Verizon. If you are talking about older window devices which I have own various ones you can say that with ANY carrier and the "old" way of doing things which is SIMILAR to what they are doing now with WP7 devices in based on what I say SB say.

As far as your expectations for an applogy are concerned, you are setting yourself up for dissapointment-  I already appologized for calling you misinformed-  the best you'll get from here on troll is a thank you for clarifying your comments-

I'll wait and see and if I don't get an apology when I find what Steve Ballmer said I hope you at least admit you are wrong, but hey this is the internet and you don't have to say what you don't want to right?

I am agree and I do not think that Verizon should be testing Mango any longer as today I found out while stopping by a Verizon store.  They have the HCT Trophy on display running Mango.  SO, enough testing and release it to the mass ASAP.

I just feel sorry for people who use android...

Also to the verizon moderators here- you should let your bosses know verizon is losing customers because they are not investing enough into the windows phones..
