I have a new Samsung Gusto 3 and everything else works fine (including Mobile Web). But when I try to set up Mobile Email, it says "Add Account" with a spinning icon for a minute and then gives this error: "Connection Issue: Connection unsuccessful. Please try again.". I've tried many times, but it always does the same thing. What's up?
(As an aside, as a new Verizon customer I'm appalled by the "support". There's no way to email them, the Live Chat only ever says all agents are busy, and I can't start Mobile Email in a call, so I can't call them and troubleshoot at the same time. I don't have another phone and I don't use Facebook or Twitter, so I have no way of efficiently getting official support! This is really quite ridiculous from one of the biggest corporations around.)

Wait. What?
It's 'ridiculous' that VZW cant help you while your on the device you want to troubleshoot because you don't have another phone? I am really confused....Maybe pherson will wake up early and help me understand.
Anyways...
If you have Mobile Email 3.0 installed, that was retired back on 3/28/14 and is no longer supported. You can attempt to open the Mobile Email app will see it attempt to sync.
- A timeout error will occur without completing the sync.
- Customers will see "Communication error" or a similar message
It is no longer supported.

Mobile email is no longer supported.
It doesn't matter how big or how little a corporation is, you cannot troubleshoot a device while you are talking on it. Also considering that you have a basic phone you cannot talk and surf the web at the same time. If mobile email was available it used the web. The only way to check your email is to use the native browser, get a tablet, or a smartphone.
Hope that helps you and Acrillix

Yeah they retired that stuff. I didn't go into explaining it. I was only asking you to help me understand why he thought that VZW was at fault since he didn't have another phone to call in and troubleshoot
