More Windows 7 Phones please!

Will Verizon be making the Windows 7 Phone platform a priority at any point?  It took forever to release one W7 Phone with outdated specs, and yet all the user reviews are all very positive.  That speaks a lot about the quality of the OS and it seems like more models would sell very well.  I for one have been been holding out for a W7 phone with a QWERTY keyboard since last year, and there still aren't any available from Verizon.  Any timeframe on a better selection?

I doubt Verizon will make WP7 a priority, however, we the people can push them into making it a priority by spreading the word, showing it off, and getting people to want it.  Point out the security breeches on Android (boy is android becoming an easy target), and explain to them how WP7 is a more secure platform.

1. Apps have no access to the OS.  They only have access to isolated storage, and cannot access the isolated storage of other apps.

2. Apps are tested by Microsoft prior to being published in Marketplace, and they are tested not only for user experience, but for malicious code.  (Android apps are published as soon as the developer submits them, not tested at all).

3. IF (and that's a big if), somehow a malicious app got past testing and into Marketplace, once it was discovered all Microsoft would have to do is revoke its security certificate.  Each app that is certified gets a certificate, and the phone checks back on that certificate at some interval (I don't know it).  If the certificate is revoked, the app automatically uninstalls from the phone, protecting the user.  No such auto-uninstall method exists on Android.

4. The vast majority of iPhone people are just sheep.  I was talking with a friend about my phone yesterday, and she said, "I just want an iPhone just because I have wanted an iPhone for a long time so I'm going to get one."  I said, "baaaaaaaaa."  They'll buy anything Apple sells just because Apple sells it.  Don't waste your time on them.  If Steve Jobs said urine was a great energy drink, you know what they'd be doing???

5. Show off your phone.  Show it off as much as you can.  I won a phone from Microsoft, and it's an ATT phone, so here's what I'm doing with it.  I have a friend who has an iPhone (and is NOT a sheep - imagine that).  I gave him the phone, and he is going to use it for a couple weeks before giving it back.  He knows there will be a learning curve compared to coming from iPhone, but he wants to give it a fair shot.  So I'm letting him borrow it, so he can judge for himself.  Then when he gives it back to me, one of the ladies in my church is going to buy it.  She has wanted one since I showed her the Sprint Arrive I had, when I jumped over to Sprint before discovering how pathetic their coverage is here.

6. Did I say show off your phones???

With the lack of support from Verizon on this platform, if we want it to succeed, it is going to be an uphill battle for us to win, but it is a battle worth winning.  Nokia is coming to WP7, so that will help the platform, but with no word on whether they will support CDMA, we can't count on them coming to VZW (though I would love that!).  Fight the good fight, people!

I agree with showing off the phone because a lot of stories are circulating about phone company sales reps (not just Verizon) are pushing customers to other phones.  Windows phone users however are the most satisfied customers, including the iPhone.  And Mango will help bring more converts (my wife wanted one until she found out she couldn't customize ringtones).  We will not go into that great good night!!!

Yea, I really need one that has a slide out keyboard for my huge hands.  I keep trying the newer onscreen keyboards, but unless the device is the size of a tablet, they just don't work for me.  I keep pleading for the HTC Arrive to get to Verizon, but Big Red doesn't seem to care.

Yea, I singed up for that several weeks ago hoping to get info on the WP7 phones - I still haven't received any notification from VZW of anything coming out...  (including the Trophy.)
