My contract has just been renewed, how much is it to cancel it?

I have the Samsung Brightside (basic phone; no data) and my mom surprisingly renewed my phone and its contract on July 17, 2013. I really want a smartphone and I was considering switching carriers. But now since my phone is renewed, although it hasnt even been a month, how much (if there is a fee) to cancel it? I know that since I now have a basic phone, the fee is cheaper than an "advanced" phone, but should I even pay a fee to cancel my contract when I didnt even have it for a month? (And my phone was bought at Costco, if this helps in anyway)

After 14 days it's prob like $250 for that phone or something
