My number has been showing up as calling people while in my possession and sometimes off. How does this happen? How do I stop it?
I've tried to contact facebook support and been trying to get on live chat for hours to no avail. Please help me stop annoying people.
What does Facebook have to do with your phone dialing people? Mary
Facebook doesn't have anything to do with it that I know of. I asked about it there b'c verizion tech support was so slow. The verizon contact us page said you could ask questions on facebook. When I finally talked to live chat they said there is an app people use that does this. Their engineers are supposed to see if anything can be done about it or if I have to change my number.
Oh you mean a facebook page for verizon, never used it. The nearest verizon store is a minute from my house so I go there for my tech support and they are awesome. Have you tried googling your model phone with that problem after it? Mary
I finally got in touch with support and they said there is an app people use to make someone else's number show up when they make prank calls. Their engineers are supposed to be seeing if there is anything I can do to protect myself, but it's not looking hopeful. Thanks for trying to help!
Ah someone is spoofing your number, not very nice. Mary
A month ago I received a spoofed call at 6A - obviously I was not happy. Came from 000-0000000 as I recall.
Tonight I had two irate people call me minutes apart saying I called them - I was eating dinner with my wife with my phone turned off in our eye-sight.
I cannot believe that we allow spoofing software and spoof cards these days, with only a crime if someone asks for money or does some similar fraudulent activity.
I have been receiving calls recently from irrate people as well, stating I have been calling them repeatedly (while my phone has not been in use). Did you ever receive a response from Verizon on how to control the issue? Or, did you simply change your phone number?
