Quotes from Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia:

"We will be introducing a PORTFOLIO of products into the United States, in EARLY 2012."

"In addition to the existing products, which include WCDMA and HSPA, we plan to introduce LTE and CDMA products to address specific local requirements."

Twitter handle @ms_nerd (who, BTW tweeted using Twitter for Blackberry, oddly),

tweeted this:

#tips #thisjustin New Verizon Windows Phone announcement coming real soon. Sprint? Not so much 😕

From what I have heard, his predictions have been surprisingly accurate, but we shall see.  Either way, I am going to wait for the Nokia Lumia 900, which has been leaked, but not announced at Nokia World.

There was a rumor a while back that Nokia would be launching a high-end phone to Verizon, so hopefully the 900 will be the phone that comes to Verizon.  The 800 has a smaller screen than the Trophy, while better in every other aspect.  The 900 has a rumored 4.3" screen.  That's what I'm talking about!

Also, free with every Nokia phone, and exclusive to every Nokia phone:

ESPN Sports Hub

Nokia Drive

Nokia Music

And probably more that I'm forgetting to list.

So the good news isn't coming as soon as we want it to, but it is coming...

No.  Not the Windows Phones, anyway.  The Asha series (Symbian) all have a Blackberry style keyboard, but none on the WP devices.  That is NOT to say that there won't be, however.  Steven Elop was vague about what was to come.  He said that there would be a "portfolio" of devices coming to the United States in early 2012.  We shall see then, I suppose.

And even if Nokia comes out with one doesn't mean that Verizon will make it available for us....  (They didn't with the HTC Arrive!)

I respect you.  Holding on to a TP2 that long.  I had an early TP2 as well, but I couldn't help myself.  I got a Trophy on launch day.  I was able to get the new contract pricing because I left and went to ATT because I was tired of waiting.  But within a few weeks of switching (and getting tired of ATT's spotty coverage), Trophy launched, and I switched back, and to win me back, they gave me the new contract pricing.  NICE.  So now, I have a Trophy, and I realize that when Nokia comes to Verizon, I'm going to pay full price for it.  And I will smile while doing it, because it will be so worth it!

Posted in another thread I just upgraded to a Trophy from a TP2.  Talk about a night and day difference.  I love the Trophy as I knew I would.  I can do everything so much quicker than on the TP2.  While it was good in it's time, the interface was just so slow and clunky.  I too, though, am waiting for a better phone.  I'm hoping the Nokia 900 will be coming to Verizon because I want a phone with a screen larger than 4".  Still, you really can't go wrong upgrading to a Trophy.  If you catch it on sale, you can pick it up cheap.  Last week they were on sale for $29.  I jumped on that and upgrade both my wife and my  phones.  Now they're back up to $149.
