I just checked my "extras & info" screen and was shocked to see I'm running the Cyan firmware and the official WP8.1 software. I don't know exactly when it happened, but it's out!!! I've been using Phone Update in Settings on a daily basis.

Yea, right....it "just happened", and I "just somehow got pregnant...don't know how!"

Please share that screen capture confirming your update.

I would expect that Verizon is pushing it out to users in batches. I didn't notice it right away because my daily driver is now an iPhone 6. Now that Cyan is live on my Icon I'll switch back to it for a week or so. Maybe more if it's insanely great.

You need to press the "more info" to show the firmware. That will truly tell you if you are on Cyan, or if it's just a mistake.

Why does my "extras & info" screen show Lumia Cyan? Last time I looked it was still on Lumia Black.

I hate tell you but mine said Denim Today. Check "about" on the settings and I think you will find that your firmware has not change. It will be 1028.3566.1417.0047 (Black). By the way mine now says Black not Denim. Verizon and Microsoft have lost my business unless they can fix this mess in a week. Both party have some blame to bear but I will take it out on both evenly by taking my business else where Apple and A*&*. I will see if I can find a contract buy out on Black Friday. Ironic, "Black" just like the version of firmware I am stuck with.

So am I to understand that Verizon is changing the display in our settings just to mollify us??  I'm not really running Cyan and I'm not really running WP8.1?? The firmware version I'm running is 1028.3566.1417.0047 just like you said.

Your phone will not just slam down/load/run/update to 8.1.  It will require more effort.  I'm wondering, too, if Verizon is just changing this in the background so uses will do exactly as you did, saying "my phone has been updated".

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Does it still show Cyan, mine went back to Black after I ran a phone update (I think). I was so hoping you were right about the update. Smiley Sad

I've run Phone Update several times and my Extras & Info still says Lumia Cyan, and in that pretty cyan blue. If this is a sham job by Verizon it just plain sucks. This is some dirty double-dealing bu11sh!t.

Interesting yours still says Cyan, but if the firmware number has not changed then its still Black.

Here's my "about" screen under "more info." I removed the MAC Address, IMEI, and MEID.

Has anyone checked with customer service to see why their phone says Cyan

It's a bug with Developer Preview. It's still Black. Check the details and you'll see everything matches with Black.

I don't have the Preview for Developers installed.

The VZW reps rarely respond to "where's the update threads". They especially don't respond to discussions not marked as an unanswered question which is the case for this particular discussion.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
