Personal contacts alpha listing in apps

All my contacts now shop in  the screen that shows up after you swipe from the start screen. Each letter of the alphabet now shows up making the list a lot longer. How to I change this back so they don't show on that screen?

You may have to to a hard reset. Backup all your data then reset phone. Settings>About>Reset

Am going over to the store tomorrow to pick up a charging plate so I'll see how proficient their employees are. Thanks for the suggestion tho.
