Subject: Northern Hills Software Question

Question: Any updates on views about Windows Phone 7 and Pocket software?
Thank you

Jeffrey,

Unfortunately no, Windows Phone 7 hasn't changed much since initial
introduction. (Well, there have been some good improvements) The biggest
issue is that no code compatibility at all with Windows Phone 7 vs. Windows
Mobile, we'd have to totally start from scratch.

We keep hoping they'll allow for a compatibility "interface" to allow
Windows Mobile software to be re-compiled for Windows Phone 7, but so far
there's been nothing we are aware of on that front.

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE////

Thank you

Northern Hills Software appears to be living in the Pre-2010 software days.  Windows Mobile is dead, and it's up to the software developers to re-write their programs.

A captability interface for WP7 would go against what WP7 is going for.  The code is completely different for one thing, but the look and feel would just be totally destroyed since it's not based on the Metro UI.

In this situation, this is a problem Northern Hills Software needs to address because WP7 is the future as far as Microsoft mobile platform, and Windows Mobile is gone.  Update your app, or lose customers.
