Privacy advocate demands Google replace his Android phone with a Windows one

Is it just me, or does publicly "announcing your privacy changes" not make them "private" anymore?  Google and Droid are taking the bad rap these days, 6 months ago it was the iPhone and I am sure that "others" are up to it in one way or another.

Just loaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview on my Dell Duo tablet.  Noticed that all of the app hooks to places like email, contacts, calendars, facebook and other areas connect to your Windows Live account.  Works just like the Windows Phone setup.  Again, nothing "private" about this when you are asked to log into Windows Live to get at names, phone numbers, and account information.

This, perhaps, explains all of the March 1 messages on your Verizon Droid?  But it also acts as a wake up call for all those entering data on mobile devices of all kinds.  Just like on a PC, that data may not be too "private".

Yeah with Windows 8 now allowing you to use your Live account as a login account more and more of my "data" is going to the cloud and I don't feel comfortable about this.  I haven't found anything yet, but I hope the data is encrypted on Microsoft's side.  The price we pay for convenience Smiley Happy

Sounds like if Microsoft plays their cards right, they can use this in their advertising.

Ironically more FUD being spread around...

They unified their privacy policy from roughly around 60 into 1.  ALL OPT OUTS still work, and ALWAYS have...  This was said months ago, but people overlooked it because it gets them ratings...

Don't get those panties bunched up Tids.  With 3 phones and 1 of them a Windows Phone, it's easier for you to OPT OUT (as you call it) and stick with your Nokia 710 until Microsoft gets caught screwing around with our Windows Live accounts.

More FUD for you...  MY OPT OUT is to not use them at all.  Let those Canadian Pharmacy spam emails roll!

Again you are spreading MORE FUD...  All opt outs ARE the same before March 1, and AFTER March first.  Once you opt out you are opted out.  You can even opt out AFTER March 1 just like before.

Stop spreading misinformation just like them blogs, and "news" sites that want this kind of stuff for ratings.

At least I can get all the data about me from Google when I am said and done with them, and they'll even delete that data off their servers.  MS or Apple Good luck with that Smiley Happy

It doesn't matter though... They have to collect some data specifically due to the PATRIOT ACT anyway which is in the hands of our government, and you can't opt out at all

Who needs to make stuff up for thier ratings when paranoid people keep this "FUD" at the top of the forum lists!
