Problem with placing calls with Samsung phone

My Samsung phone will ring and place a call, but I cannot hear anything when the person answers my call or I answer a call.

We'll get you communicating with your phone again! Does the same thing happen when you're on speakerphone? Which Samsung phone do you have?
