Removing Phone number from old phone

I have a Nokia Lumia Icon that I no longer use. I have upgraded to a different phone but the Icon still shows my phone number. I want to get rid of it, but not with my number on there. How can I remove it?

Remove the SIM card, and do a factory reset.
