Riped off and Scammed by Verizon

I used to work for Verizon Wireless and just before I left the company the HTC 8x had just been released and I was assigned it as an employee device. When I left the company I returned it and yet received a bill for $449. After two months, a few dozen calls to customer service who could never see the account because it was an "Employee Best Device Account" and being given countless phone numbers and email addresses that supossivedly handle employee accounts (but they were all company internal so I could never get through or get a resonse), I contacted my former manager who I handed the phone to on my last day. He claimed to have spent hours on this situation and that it was cleared up.

I then received a letter in the mail in June saying I had 7 days to pay or the amount would be sent to collections. Since I was in the process of purchasing a home I paid the amount because I coldnt have it on my credit. I escalated the situation to a Human Resources Manager in Irvine, Ca but was redirected to my former manager who began to get annoyed and started ignoring my calls. After going back through the HR Manager, he began to communicate once again and I received a statement in August saying that the amount would be refunded. YET I just received another statement saying the refund was "reversed" and I would NOT be receiving my $449 with no further explanation.

This matter seems to be going in circles, since I do have text messages from my former manager acknowledging that I did turn the phone in, a statement showing that at one time Verizon admitted I deserved a refund, a photograph of the box it was sent in and a tracking number that shows Verizon did receive it, the next step will be legal action if this post does not receive attention. This was not under my personal account which I am using to post this since I cannot access the employee account through my Verizon.

Will hope to hear from Verizon soon or I will be in touch

You were a former employee of Verizon Wireless and you are getting the same run around the poor paying customers receive. Kind of poetic wouldn't you agree.

If you paid by credit card call the bank and have them charge it back. If the proof you say you have is available just copy it and send to the bank and it will not be put back on your card.

Take your proof and go to small claims court. With proof like that you will win hands down. You can also file a Better Business Bureau complaint at http://www.bbb.org  this way Verizon will contact you.

If they (Verizon) has no loyality to their own employees it is clear that they are pure greed. The terrible customer service on the phone, in chat, Twitter and Facebook and the removal of the email support show that Verizon has no regard for employees or customers just for their stockholders and pure greed.

Good Luck

That sounds very unfortunate however you stated "I contacted my former manager who I handed the phone to on my last day" as well as ",a photograph of the box it was sent in and a tracking number that shows Verizon did receive it" If you plan on using legal action, you might want to get the story straight. Otherwise they will deny your request.

I left out out that when I contacted my former manager originally, I accused him of not sending in my phone. He then sent me the picture of the phone in the box, a picture of the shipping label and then also texted me the tracking number written out.

Its just dissapointing that no one has yet to contact me even as I am paying $300 for my personal account each month. I have 2 other family members that work for the company and my family was been Verizon customers since they were AirTouch Cellular in the late 90's. I didnt even want the phone in the first place but we were supposed to learn the new Windows operating system. Just getting very frustrating.
