My daughter's Samsung Brighside Phone keeps randomly turns off for no reason. There is no damage to the phone and it hasn't been dropped. She's had it for the last year and it's been happening on and off.

Any phone I have had from Verizon came with a 1yr manufacturers warranty. Did you take into Verizon during the warranty period to see what's wrong? My sons phone died at 11 months and Verizon replaced it in the 1yr warranty. Mary

@rle9,
Never fear help is here! Let's put an end to this issue so your daughter can enjoy her phone.
Is the phone power cycling when the device is slide open or when using certain applications? Is the phone fully charged when this happens? Has she tried a different battery? What's the software version on the phone http://vz.to/1yenRNF?

I brought the phone to the Verizon store and it appears that the battery is not staying connected. It shuts off when the keyboard is opened or just randomly. The phone would be fully charged and then be completely dead at the end of the day without any use. Again, the battery is not staying in contact with the phone. The employee put a post it note in there to make the battery stop moving around. It seems to have fixed the problem, so the phone is working properly. It's not an idea fix, but at least the phone works. It sounds like it is a manufacturer flaw in the design. I was hoping to upgrade the phone, but not at full retail price. was told we weren't eligible for an upgrade for another year, so we are going to make do.
Thanks, Lisa

Too bad you didn't take it in before the 1yr to get a replacement but at least it's a work around. Mary
