Samsung Convoy 3, backup assistant lists all my contacts as "unknown" even though they are listed correctly in my phone. Help!

I Have a Samsung Convoy 3.  I am getting ready to get a new phone and I set up a back up assistant account.  Online, the backup assistant lists my contacts as all "unknown" even though the information shows correctly in my phone.

Forget Backup Assistant as it's very unstable to use, try a Google backup.

To start your backup: Sign in to your Google Account from your old phone and do the following:

1. 1. Go to Settings, Personal, Backup and reset, and.
   select both Backup my data and Automatic restore.
2. 2. Go to Settings, Personal, Accounts & Sync,
   and select your Google account.
3. 3. Select all of the option boxes listed, to ensure that
   all available data is synced. After backing up your information, you will be able to set-up and sign in to your regular Google account from your new phone and all of your information can be transferred.

It's just a regular flip phone, plain. I don't have a google account.
