Samsung Omnia 2 sending old text messages to random people

Last night, my Omnia 2 sent a text message to a friend of mine. It was an old text that had been deleted, but somehow, the phone or Verizon resurrected the message, and sent it to a different friend with whom I'd been exchanging texts.

This is not the first time this has happened. I always delete all of my text messages, so none are saved on my phone. Yet an old one will pop up and send itself to someone unrelated to the original conversation. I do not like this feature.

I have looked EVERYWHERE on the phone and in the manual to find out where old messages might be being stored, and I can't find anything. Can anyone help?
