Sudden reactivation after powering off... please help!

I simply went and slid down the screen of my phone to power it off, but when I powered it back on, it turned on and showed the "Hello would you like to activate your new Windows Phone" screen. I don't know how or why this happened but I fear all of my data and contacts have been deleted... if anyone knows the reason behind this or how to fix it, please help!!

That is really odd! It does appear as though it did a reset. Has it done it again since this incident?
