I bought an iPhone 4 the other day off VZW with a new line - I'm regretting it now realizing VZW has the Trophy which is a Windows 7 phone.  Can online purchases be returned to a corporate store so I can exchange it for a trophy?

Thank you for your inquiry. Since you made the purchase online and being under the Worry Free Guarantee,  you must send the device back to the warehouse within 14 days. The return instructions came with your phone on how to process the return. In the store exchanges can only be done if you purchased the device in the store. You should use the same box that was used to send you the new device and the FedEx label in your return.  Please record the twelve digit tracking number for future reference. Once received and the return has been processed, you can then go about processing your upgrade for the device you desired. There will be a $35.00 restocking fee deducted against the credit on the device return or on your account.

Not sure on that one - just call a store and ask.  But you do have 14 days to return it.  I believe you will have to pay a $35 restocking fee.

Hi William you can return at the store as I have done before as long as it is within 14 days. They do charge a 35 restoking fee but if you go to store ask them if they can waive the fee. I had the iphone since Feb and sold it about a week ago to get the Trophy. You will not be disappointed with the trophy.

I've actually been a Microsoft MVP for a long time as well as a windows beta tester. A lot of really cool guys in the windows phone team have been telling me to buy one for months - I really wanna know what customers think Microsoft has tendency to blow smoke up my rear I'll Point out that I bought five licenses of windows me cause they said it was cool b so if you've got a trophy, what do you think your biggest disappointment is with it

Most of my disappointments have to do with customization / options.

  • I only have the one choice of phone. (I really would have liked an AMOLED screen like on the Samsung Focus)
  • You only get the 11 color choices for your tiles. (I really don't care for any of them, but have settled for Green)
  • No custom ringtones
  • Can't a background / wallpaper on your home screen

Also some of my favorite apps are not on WP7 yet, Trillian where are you? 🙂

Yea... As an EX MSFT employee, I learned to never listen to developers, program/product managers or sales/marketing people.  The best people to listen to are the support people and, of course, the customers who actually use the product in the real world.

I too find that people who make a product tend to think it is kicks butt but when customers actually use it is where you get your best feedback.  I personally don't like review sites either - people who get demonstration models  for their personal use or reviewing purposes kind of bug me.

With that being said, my main interest in it is from an IT standpoint - clearly Windows is moving into a totally new UX and I think we're seeing the beginnings of that in the Windows Phone 7 OS I'd like to be on the ground level of it.  My other thinking is that a lot of market analysts are foreseeing Windows Phone will overtake iOS and reign in the number two or three spot in the next two or three years.  While that's a hell of a foresight - most of these companies were right about the growth of Android, iOS and the death of miserable things like HD-DVD, the original Windows Tablet OS from HP and of course Duke Nukem Forever so I guess I also wanna see what everyone in the financial world sees that I'm not seeing because to be honest, the phone looks generic to me but very functional.
