On October 29, 2014, I spoke to a Verizon rep because I was a day late renewing my prepaid cell phone. I've had this cell phone contract for way more than 10 years. I had over $400 built in credit but because I was late, they took it all away. The rep told me it would be replaced in 5 - 10 business days.Well, November 10 rolled around and no refund came. I contacted Verizon again and was told since this was my second time in all those years in being late, they would not refund that money. Right now I have 1 hour on the phone and will not be renewing it. The phone is going in the trash and I now will go to another service. Maybe one that has service at my home which Verizon never did. I guess they just don't care about their customers.

Lesson learned you have to pay on time or service is terminated. Maybe get into a habit of marking on a calendar when the money is due a few days before. Not the company's fault you were late. Make sure to ask the new provider what happens if you are a day late and see if they offer a grace period for people that forget to pay on time. When we had verizon prepaid phones years ago the payment was automatically put on our credit card so we didn't have to remember. Mary
