That reporting to the FCC thing is really helping you get that update isn't it?

Maybe not, but it sure is getting a whole lot of media attention!  Verizon is really looking bad to potential customers right now and AT&T is actively recruiting based on it.  I love it!   Maybe Verizon should rethink their customer relations policies and find a way to update devices faster or they could get passed up by AT&T.

Ha ha I needed that joke of the day

Media attention? Where? I read a small forum post on a couple of web sites. I don't see CNN or even MSNBC giving any coverage. This is a non issue.

AT&T is not getting  huge numbers for the Windows Phones.

I can say they do have the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ available for immediate sale in the corporate store near me.

They did have a small selection of the windows phones on the far side wall.

However the Apple devices and LG devices were right in front center of the store. Does that tell you anything my friend.

Maybe today I will go up and take a photo just so you can see that AT&T is not pushing them either.

Verizon corporate store is right in the next plaza.

Have a great Friday

I have already posted previously that the Windows Phones are not selling as well in the USA and provided a very good reason why.  But, I will say you are wrong about AT&T not pushing Windows Phones.  Yes, they may not be pushing them as much as the iPhones, but they are not "actively dissuading potential customers" like Verizon salespeople are.  I went to my local AT&T store to check out the Lumia 1520 and the saleman was very polite, very informed about Windows Phones, very respectful and never once tried to pursuade me to purchase another device, despite the fact that there was a huge iPhone 6 display front and center.  Over at Verizon however, the past 3 times that I was in the local Verizon store, I personally witnessed sales people telling potential WP customers "you don't want a Windows Phone, let me show you this iPhone" or "Android is a much better phone than the Icon" or "I really don't know much about Windows Phones, but I know they aren't as good as the iPhones are."   This isn't a case of this might have happened.  I saw it happen!  That type of low-down, dirty business practice is horrible, shameful and really disgusts me.  AT&T may not be as big as Verizon, but their customer service is 10 times better, at least from what I've experienced.  I was a customer of AT&T for over 18 years before coming to Verizon and comparing the last 4 years with VZW to the previous 18 years at AT&T, I will give the ribbon to AT&T any day for customer service!

Really because of outside of here I haven't heard and thing and I keep up on this industry. Sorry Windows phone are maybe 3% at best. So the vast majority of people don't care. And I'm willing to bet at least half the people using Windows phones aren't even aware of OS updates. Frankly I'm tired of people whining whether it be Windows or Android or iOS. Your phone is fine until you hear about some new update that is usually minor then all of sudden your perfectly working device is garbage.

First, do more research, and if you "keep up on this industry" you'd know what you stated isn't entire true.  Yes, maybe here in the USA Windows Phones are at about 3% sales, but globally, Windows Phones are currently at 10%.  There was a recent article I read that stated this was a milestone for Windows Phone platform.

Second, if you're tired of people whining about updates, then join the fight to make carriers speed up the process, because you sure won't get us to stop complaining about updates we should be getting.  These updates aren't just enhancements to our devices, but also contain security fixes and patches.  Security issues that were discovered AFTER the device was released, some of which are due to software apps belonging to the carriers that are required to be on our phones.  So, no the phone was not "fine" when we purchased it.  It was sold with security flaws and the updates are to fix that and I wouldn't call that "a minor update."

My research is fine. You're talking about US carriers. You can't leave Verizon for some European or Asian carrier so what their sales are is moot. In the US it's maybe 3% so your issue with their OS updates affect very few people. That's factual. Verizon losing 10% of Apple customers is more than them losing 100% of Windows customers. Who do you think they are going to focus on?

There is no fight to join but YOU and your fellow Window Phone fans can stop posting ona  messagboard designed for people seeking HELP from other customers with daily "Where is my Windows 8.1 update?" No one from Verizon is reading it so what's the point? Go to their twitter page or Facebook page.

As I have previously written before, we paying customers have every right to post our displeasure with Verizon, their customer service policies or anything else we desire to complain about.  This is the United States of America where we have freedom of speech.  So, yeah, go ahead and be unAmerican and try to squash my freedom of speech by telling me to "stop posting on a messageboard..."  I'll continue to post all the complaints I feel like on this and any other board I want to.  If you don't like it, don't read it.  That's your right as well.

Have a good day!

So you're just going to annoy other paying customers so it make you feel better but accomplishes nothing? The number of Verizon employees important enough to do anything about your issue that will read ANY of this is less than 1. You could go to their Twitter an Facebook page and have a better chance of attracting attention but you rather post here. To me that borders on trolling. If you actually cared about solving your issue or making your displeasure known to those in charge you be complaining in the appropriate places. That fact you're not speaks volumes
