The proximity sensor on the HTC M8 (windows) is not working, any ideas??

I just got a HTC M8 (windows) and I noticed that the proximity sensor is not turning off the screen while making calls.  As a matter of fact, I can cover it and the screen will not go off.  Any ideas??

Either it's defective or by-design.  Reach out to HTC, HTC Support Center-Chat

Yeah stay away from Verizon Customer Service if you can.
