Turning off notices

How do I turn off notices on my cell phone for emails recieved and new posts to facebook.   I have tried to chat with someone at Verizon, but it always says "all representives are currently busy, please try again later." Very frustrating.

You will have to go into facebook and turn off your texts for facebook. To do that, go to settings, then account settings, then notifications, then text message. That will allow you to turn off specific text alerts that you want.
