Using Verizon Nokia Icon, I have just updated to Windows 8.1 successfully. However, it seems that turning on the “Hey Cortana” – off Setting – does not work. It seems as the phone is not able to Listen. Any suggestions?
Did you update from Developer Preview? If so, you may want to do the Lumia Software Recovery Tool and reimage your phone. I upgraded to Denim from DP and was having all kinds of problems ranging from Bluetooth connectivity issues, to screen color issues and Cortana not being able to hear me even when I shouted at the phone.
I decided to back up everything on my phone and reimage my phone using the Lumia Software Recovery Tool. I did NOT use the App restore either. I just manually reinstalled the apps I wanted. It's a lengthy way of doing it, but it ensures the most current versions of the app are installed and makes for a much cleaner install.
As a result, I am not having ANY problems with my Lumia Icon! I say "Hey Cortana" and she wakes up instantly from any state. All my apps are working, my volume is fine, my screen is fine, bluetooth items connect without any issues. I'm ROCKIN Denim! LOVE IT!
On a special note to Verizon - Thank you VERY MUCH for getting us this Denim firmware upate before any other US Carrier. Because of this, I will forgive the delay/passover of Cyan firmware update and have decided to remain a Verizon customer. Thanks again!
