Currently I'm using an iPhone 5S and am about to go on vacation. I was wondering if it's possible to switch back to a dumb phone I have to take a break from all social media and crap. It would just be for a week or so to purge then I would switch back. Does anyone know if this is possible?

One way to find out is by clicking My verizon / My device / Activate or switch device. I guess it would just depend on how old the phone is. You may need to go into a store if it doesn't work online, but even a dumb phone had some capabilities back in the day.

You cannot activate a dumb/feature phone on a smartphone line. If you don't want to be hassled with all that social media and being plugged in, just use your iPhone for a phone when you need to. Disable Mobile Data and WiFi, or just put it in airplane mode and no one can communicate with you.
