And that's a good question.  I know that Verizon started blasting Microsoft back when the Kin had problems.  Maybe it's because they don't want to appear to boycott Microsoft.  We just don't know.

We all understand shelf space, etc., but you seem to be ignoring the point of why Verizon clerks are actively trying to talk customers out of purchasing Windows Phones.

I would too if it doesn't sell well. Support for a product is always dictated by market share. They are going based on what they see in their area.

Don't get me wrong I own a few Windows Phones and I like them. I own a surface and surface 2. I use Windows 8 and playing around with Windows 10. I think MS marketing strategies are terrible when it comes to their phones.

Often I find myself carrying an Android device or my iPhone because my most favorite apps are not on Windows Phone.I, and I wish they were. I have requested it. Even offered my services to code them something initially.

I am willing to put money the first 6 months of Windows Phone most reps tried to sell them. Wasn't a while lot of fanfare and was a hard sell. As time went on the stores that cold a decent amount kept their phones in view while the ones that didn't put them in the back burner.

So...you don't see anything wrong with the employees of a store actively discouraging or barring people from buying the item they want?  If that happened to you with an iPhone or a vacuum cleaner you would be livid.

When someone walks in and says "I want that thing, here is my money" they aren't looking for advice or guidance.  They want that thing and they want to give you their money.  This is pretty basic business stuff.  Take the easy sale.  If your employees aren't doing that then you have some serious training issues.  Nobody wants to deal with that.  That was the point of my original post.

So you'd tell a customer that there's no such thing as a Windows Phone because it didn't sell well in the past?    Or you'd flat out refuse to sell them one?

To me, if a customer wants a specific device, then they've made the choice.  It's not my job to try to talk them out of it (or to lie to them.)

Awesome...I can to fly to Hawaii and buy a Windows phone without having to fight with a clerk.  Check, got it.  That's convenient.

It's to be expected is all I am saying...

Some probably don't even know about windows phone...  Don't bother wanting to learn about them because they don't sell.  Sales have high turn rates much like McDonalds and their employees.  Do that for 2 years and low sellers what do you expect to happen.  Some may even believe they are doing you guys a service by stopping you form buying an unpopular product.  It happens... They are human as much as you are.  In a perfect world...  the results may turn out like you think it is...

Honestly I wouldn't be livid.  I'd walk out and buy what I want from somewhere else.  If I knew how these people were I would get my family to buy online instead of in store.  There's more than one means to buy a product.  I would do everything in my power to affect these stores sale numbers by routing the people I know to go elsewhere.

That's just me though...

Circular logic...how does it work?

You're a shill.  We could all sit here and argue with you for days and you'll stay on this path for no particular reason at all.  You're either paid to keep spouting the same nonsense or mentally deficient.  Please, try again and convince me that these practices are A-OK.  I'm looking forward to the entertainment.
