I have a new phone that asks for a password to get my voicemails. I did not have to do that with my old phone. I do not know how to create a password so I can access my voicemails. Please give me the information on how to create a password or is there a way that I can access my voicemail without a password?

Thank you for reaching out to us, ELOGRU98. We want to make sure your Voicemail is set up to your liking. Let's looking into this. What is the make and model of your device? Are you accessing voice mail through *86?

Voicemail usually has a password, but if you're getting to it through a visual voicemail like most modern phones have, you normally only need it the first time you access voicemail. Since you have a new phone, you'll need it to access the voicemail the first time (or any time you call into it via *86 or another phone). If you don't remember your voicemail password, you can call in to Verizon customer service and they'll reset it for you.

Try holding down the "1" button on the dialer pad which will call voicemail and shouldn't require a password.

MICWER6, we want to make sure you know all your different options for retrieving your voicemail. Let’s go over them together. A portion of this depends on the type of phone you have. What type of device do you have? Were you able to test the speed dial by holding down “1” as was recommended in another post. What type of voicemail do you have (basic, visual, or premium visual, etc.)?

I have the Droid Z. Three of them and only one makes me put in a password to get voicemail. My husband hates that.

We want to make sure that you can fully utilize your device and its capabilities, Micwer6. Are you using the *86 feature to access your voicemail or another voicemail program? Have you had your voicemail password reset for you so that you can save a permanent one?
