60% of the folks purchasing the Lumia 900 phones (NOT purchased thru Verizon) are coming off of either an Android or iPhone device. So much for the VZW belief that customers won't switch just for a device. Of course, there is also the declining VZW customer service quality and that spiffy new $30 upgrade fee. Impressive that customers are sending a message to VZW by spending their money elsewhere.
Seems like a quick-fix would be a VZW commitment to new Windows Phone devices. Of course, hiring more and better customer services reps (like AT&T just did) and dropping the stupid $30 upgrade fee appear to be no-brainer options as well.
You keep your common sense to yourself! This is no place for it!
Congratulations, those users who switch to ATT will now see a $36 upgrade fee when they are eligible for an phone upgrade.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
I'm curious as to how you came to the conclusion that the majority of customers buying an AT&T Phone who are switching from Android or iPhone (both of which AT&T offers) are VzW Android/iPhone customers as opposed to, you know, AT&T Android/iPhone customers?
That's negotiable I got AT&T to wave the $36 activation fees for both Lumias
The activation fee is different from the upgrade fee that ATT charges when upgrading devices after the two year contract is complete.

That still doesn't mean you can't negotiate. I've had plenty of services with different companies and sometimes all it takes is a little talking or implying you will leave for better options. Heck you can even sometimes get the APR lowered on your credit card just by asking.
I have been reading the same things... The Lumia 900 is looking to be a great big breath of fresh air for tired iPhone users who are bored and bothered Android users who are angered by an unstable OS, low battery life, security flaws, never ending advertisements, apps that force close on themselves...
Although I do think Nokia will be looking to top themselves again with their run with VZW... The Nokia Lumia 900 is good, but maybe a Lumia 1000?! I don't think Nokia should rest on the successes of the Lumia 900.
