Weirdly, my basic Verizon LG wireless phone won't turn on, though it has plenty of battery left. What am I missing?

Plugging in didn’t work, after 5 minutes, 30 minutes, and when the battery was fully charged. Any other ideas, folks?

Try removing the battery, then reinserting it (if it has a removable battery, that is).  Then press and hold the power button for 10-20 seconds to see if that gets it to start.
