What is wrong with the sound on my device?

I have a Lumia 928.  The problem is when I make are receive a call....the other end can hear me, but I can't hear them. Same with voice mail, I can't hear the lovely lady's voice. It used to only happen so often, however it appears to be getting worse. A restart sometimes fixes the problem. I took it into a local verizon shop and a find gentleman said Windows phone's are notorious for switching to global mode and insisted that going back to LTE and CDMA it would fix the problem.  Nope.  Any ideas?  I'm thinking a new phone is in store.  I am still under warranty.
