I just bought the REVERE and was excited when I noticed the dual charge/USB cord. But when I tried connecting to my laptop I was informed of no drivers found. Upon further searching I read that I can't even transfer pics from phone to computer or visa verse. So really, whats the point of the USB?.

By any chance do you know if this could work with Samsung Intensity III? I just got a new one. Came w/ Micro USB Data Cable (2100 mAh).
Thanks
Are you talking about using the phone with the USB cable or through Blue Tooth? The phone should work without BitPim or any other app with the USB cable.
From the Intensity III manual.
Transferring Files to your Phone
Use USB Mass Storage to connect your phone to your
computer to transfer files to your phone’s internal memory, or
to an optional installed memory card.
This procedure describes default USB connection behavior.
You can configure USB Mode settings. For more information,
see “USB Mode” on page 171.
1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select
Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Tools ➔
USB Mass Storage.
2. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable.
3. At the prompt, select a USB Mode. Use the
Directional Key to highlight USB Mass Storage, then
press the Center Select Key OK.
4. At the prompt on your computer, select a method for
transferring files, then transfer files.
5. When finished, press the Center Select Key Disconnect,
then follow the prompts.

10ad3d, congratulations on the new device. Since you are using a pc you do need to download drivers for your computer to communicate with the device. Here is a link to download the drivers: http://www10.vx7000world.com/
Additionally, you can manage your media by using the V Cast Media Manager. Here is a demo describing the product: http://support.verizonwireless.com/video/product/apps/Media_Video/index.html
I hope these two links will help. Thanks.

Why, that's to hang yourself when you realize you got scammed by liars at Verizon and now you're stuck with their piece of junk phone and crap service for two long years because that receipt you didn't get to read is ostensibly a "legal contract."

The first one is just trying to get you to buy a product. I can't find any drivers for the sorry Revere phone to get your pictures off the phone I think is impossible.

I don't have this particular model, but is there an option in your phone settings that lets you select USB mode vs. charge only?

no sydney. the revere is a basic phone and they don't have those options/functions. however, there are ways to utilize the usb connection, but i don't believe it is like a smart phone, where it can basically be an external drive. i think there are sync type of uses (v cast music, etc).

this is from another thread, and i believe is the best response i've seen:
Re: Transfer pictures from the LG Revere?

BitPim is a program that will access the directories in your phone. You must have your phone's drivers on your computer for BitPim to work. The software on your phone may need upgraded. An LG software upgrade assistant can be found on this page also.
Click here to download the drivers, manuals, software upgrades for your mobile device:
http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGVN150
Download BitPim to open folders in your phone:
Open BitPim
Click "Filesystem"
Click folder in the second panel
Click "Synced"
Click "My Pictures"
Right click on desired photos
click save
it is a hassle, but the usb cord can serve a purpose. you just need the current version of the software on the phone, and the drivers for it must be installed on your pc. however, once you have the drivers installed and bitpim installed, it makes it VERY nice to be able to access the directories.
