You can object to users complaining all you want.  Frankly, just as you don't care if we complain or not, we don't care if you object to us complaining.  Just because you choose not to take advantace of a service that your phone carrier provides, for whatever reason, doesn't mean you should pass judgement on others who choose to take advantage of the service.  It's a matter of choice.   As I stated previously, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE ISSUE IS VERIZON'S FAULT OR NOT.   Verizon offers technical support of your device as part of your service contract with them FOR WHATEVER ISSUE YOU ARE HAVING.  They can either help you get your issue fixed or refer you to the manufacturer.  Your "objections" to this are irrelevant to me and the thousands of other users on these forums.

"You refuse to purchase a superior product simply because you can't have clever conversations with Cortana and look at pretty live tiles?

Really?  Do you think that is the only updates included in the Cyan firmware/Windows Phone 8.1 update?  If so, you really need to do more research and reading.

There are numerous increases, upgrade and fixes associated with this update.  There are increases in battery life, security upgrades and fixes, camera upgrades and additions, additional support for bluetooth and wifi connections, etc.  WP8.1 and Cyan are more than just a "pretty face" and to compare WP8.0 to WP8.1 and state that the Icon has "so much more to offer right now in its current form and OS release, is franky laughable to say the least.

Yup....I am calling them a disgrace. I noticed you listed (technically superior carrier with an amazing network and awesome Windows Phones) but left out customer service because it is horrible. I can't believe how many VZW employees frequent these forums without identifying themselves as such.

No, he is calling Verizon all those things because of the lack of customer concern and response to our countless effort to gather information regarding this update.  It is poor customer service to ignore the hundreds of thousands of requests for the status of this update from paying customers.  People aren't ready to leave Verizon for lack of the update, but rather for lack of consideration of Verizon to care about us paying customers and provide feedback as to the status.  Without feedback, we customers are left only to speculation as to why it has been 3 months of waiting to receive an update that should have been released already.  Despite multiple requests from thousands of users, (even the ones not on these forums) Verizon still refuses to show respect to its paying customers and provide any information whatsoever.  People are getting disgusted with it and they is why they ar threatening to leave, not becasue they "didn't get some update!"

Let's be real. Security fixes? Battery life? You know the whining is all about Cortana. Battery life on the Icon is great as-is, and ... what security issues have you encountered? The camera is already fabulous.

YES, compared to other phones, the existing OS is fantastic and has way more to offer. Compared to 8.1, of course there are improvements. Had Windows not announced the update, you probably wouldn't complain, because the Icon is already amazing.

It comes down to usability. The Icon as-is is already one of the best phones on the market.

I am not sure on anything other than the fact,  I really want the 8.1 update, on my Lumia 928 and was told when I bought it from Verizon, I would get it, I bought the phone in January and was told by a agent at the Verizon store, that I would get it sometime in the 1st quarter. No news or update since. Reading in all of these forums including a Nokia forum, everything from people who have heard something, one person said, they heard sometime 4th quarter, another heard its coming but not sure when. And finally another who said a store rep. told them it is NOT coming at all because the 928 was being discontinued by Verizon so they were not going to update it. And others talking and giving links to get it upgraded now, by cheating and logging in some site as a developer. I guess Verizon is just another utility company who doesn't give a rats behind about their customers. With all of this hear say going around, you would think they would want to set the record straight. I can't wait till Vonage comes out with cell phone service, best Utility I have to date, I have had them for over 4 years, my bill has never gone up, and service is way ahead of anyone else. Just one small example, called them asking their recommendation for a new home phone, as mine was shot. I wanted one with long range, they recommended one, then said, "you have been with us over 3 years, that new phone is around $60, we will cover next months bill, put that towards you new phone, and thanks for being a loyal Vonage customer" Has anyone EVER had another utility company do that????

"hundreds of thousands of requests for the status of this update from paying customers"

More like a couple hundred at best on the forums, and thousands of Halo fanboys pulling their hair out for Cortana.

Verizon is a huge company. Yes, they SHOULD say something.

You have the super vocal on a few forums, and then you have the patient, quiet majority waiting for Denim.

That being said, CS has ignored many of these questions on this forum. I asked very specifically if Verizon was going to release Cyan, or if they are waiting for Denim, and a moderator deleted my question for CS saying the forums were flooded with this kind of question already... and yet they say nothing.

I understand the frustration, but once you get your update, will you stay with Verizon? This will be a non-issue until the next biggest thing comes up.

it is quite apparent you do not know what you are talking about. The statement above by you proves you are just complaining for the sake of complaining.

No carrier is responsible to fix issues not of their own design. again read that CUSTOMER AGREEMENT

you seem to have selective reading skills. Not one thing you state has any bearing on what updates you are going to get or not. Not one issue regarding tech support is accurate in your above post or any other post regarding Verizon's responsibility to fix your device after you have it messed up with any update.

And the so called thousands reading these exchanges can see that you and the other Windows Phone whiners cannot back up your arguments.

Prove it. Show the link that says that.

I can show the link where it says you are wrong.

Now that is a total laugh. Produce the hundreds of thousands of Verizon customers that are demanding this update. And like the other poster stated "If Microsoft never told you the update was being released you and the FEW complainers would not be on here with these foolish complaints.

Again back up your statement of these hundreds of thousands of users on Verizon both on this forum and not. (The not is a good one) How many of these phones Verizon sold? Let me clue you in. Not many.

Please save the corn I am really starting to laugh at some of these claims you are making.

Good Luck
