Granted...my bad.  I read that one incorrectly.  I can admit when I'm wrong.  If that is indeed the case, then shame on Microsoft and HTC for making VZW look bad.

Having said that, I don't think that the above is the case since I've already received admission from several individuals at Verizon from Tech support to Corporate that they DO have the Cyan firmware update and are currently testing it.  So, whether or not the above is true, Verizon is still guilty of taking entirely too long to test a firmware update.  Three months is an OBSURD amount of time to test firmware for TWO phones!

I mean if this was all a stunt to get people to upgrade their devices...

Then Why would HTC or Verizon for that matter update one of their devices while the Note 4 is about to drop and the rumor that the Sony Xperia 3 is about to drop as well on T-Mobile and Verizon?

http://www.droid-life.com/2014/09/25/verizon-issues-update-to-droid-dna-brings-security-fixes-and-mo...

Wouldn't that defeat to purpose for someone to upgrade?  Now how is it HTC can get these updates going.  Motorola can do so as well yet Nokia can't?  HTC, and Motorola are in the same position as Nokia...

So they are testing it?  I thought you said it was finished and have been finished?  Testing means it isn't finished...  How do you know it passed or failed and it hasn't gone back to Nokia.  We found out that there were problems with the initial release of Cyan and Microsoft actually had to do some major fixes...  Could it be possible that was the cause of the delay because Verizon noticed those problems, and sent it back to Nokia?  Possible...  Why can't Nokia be more transparent like HTC or Motorola?

Anyway  doesn't matter...  You already locked into your train of thinking like the rest of the American population when a potential better option is stilling in our faces with  6 years of evidence...

I've been reading through (mostly scanning since it's repetitive) most of the Cyan update posts here and have noticed something funny.  Seems Elector and Tidbits can't seem to allow a post where someone is merely venting (sometimes in the form of a question or rant) without feeling the need to reply.  It's kind of like Sheldon knocking three times before going through a door.  Sometimes people just want to rant, complain, or whatever and don't need a reply, but a community of others who are venting with them.  Misery loves company.  Having people get into these posts and end up in arguments isn't what the posters are truly looking for.  Just thought it was funny to see.  If the rest of you want them to "go away" (which I'm not sure this type of disorder behavior truly allows), you can all stop responding to them and skip their posts.  Simply respond to each other.  It will get you the conversation or trail of comments you were actually looking for.  Everyone loves a sympathizer when you're down.  Just my two cents.  I have an Icon and am waiting for Cyan, too, but I love the phone as is with my Developer Preview, too.

What's your problem with the American population?

Why do you have to go on every post and defend Verizon with speculation? Do you just like to argue?

If we see how Europe is getting 3-4x the number of updates. They sign contracts to get devices just like we do(just not the volume as we do.  They will buy outright and pay nearly 30% more than we do thanks to VAT and terrible conversion rates at times).  They will blame the manufacturer for any delay on updates and their carriers do have a hand in the update process(same as US carriers in terms of network connectivity and security).  HTC and Motorola felt the effects first hand on what happens when people stop buying their products in Europe, and Asia.  They were sold off(Motorola twice) or for sale(HTC has gotten offers, and if the right offer comes along expect it to be sold off).  They are able to update just fine even with all this "carriers have control" and make promises which if they had no to little control would shoot themselves in the foot.  HTC and Motorola already said when Android L comes along they'll update all their current devices to it within 90 days of release.  Pretty bold if they have little to no control and carriers had the control don't you think?

This isn't speculation.  These are well documented and easily seen if you look at it.

Samsung for example.  Check how many updates on each version of their devices and how many updates did they get.  Go look at their sales numbers, and look at who they blame when updates don't come their way for the past 6 years.  Look at HTC and Motorola sales figures.  Motorola updated the Moto X on Verizon before updating it on any other carrier and internationally... How'd they do that if Verizon had control?  Seriously think about it.

Carriers have less control than we think, but manufacturers don't mind you putting the blame somewhere else.   At least Motorola and HTC fessed up and became transparent with their update schedules, and looking at it shows the carrier has little control, and they don't even touch code themselves.  I'll say it again...  It's working in Europe and what we are doing isn't working...  Isn't it time we tried something new?  The guys across the pond seems to get it, and maybe we should take a page from their books.  HTC and Motorola sales are slowly going back up in Europe and they changed their update policies and we see the results here in the states too...  Just saying...  I'd rather try something new at this point as what we've been doing for 6 years or so hasn't worked.

Pssst...let me explain something to you this is the Verizon Wireless Community Help Forums.

Not the Verizon Wireless Community Rant Forum.

Normally people come here to ask for assistance with their devices. Not to threaten the carrier because they are slow or not giving updates. And they are now running as just one carrier out of three that are not getting updates out. (Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon)

So don't reply its not necessary. But facts are facts.

Good one Elector!  So why are YOU on this forum?  You have publicly stated you dislike/hate Microsoft, you have indicated you don't own or use a Windows phone so what help can you be?  OH wait, you are helping Verizon not own up to tricking customers into purchasing a phone with the promise of an update they are blocking, and telling everyone they should just be quiet and let Verizon get away with putting new phone sales ahead of releasing an update that the users want.
