I need to be able to install this app, as there are now Verizon phones (well, one or so ) on my device. The Windows Store doesn't allow me to install it. I should be able to install it on tablets or other phones like I can on Android or iPhone. Can someone help me deploy this app to my phone? Even if that involves using the dev tools, I'd still need a copy of the app.
Unfortunately, I don't think you can. There is no "side-loading like on BlackBerry/Android or Jailbreaking like on iOS. If a W10M app is not released specifically for your device I don't think there is anything you can do right now. Hopefully that will change in the not-too-distant future.
I've never had good experiences with the Verizon apps. I've always found the stock apps for messaging, backup, etc, to be far superior. Why not just use the regular messaging app in Windows?
I want you to be able to have access to Verizon Messages loudmog. What is the make/model of your current device?

Is there a standalone copy of the application I can install on my device? When I visit the application in the store, I am told that it is not available for my device. Please provide a link.
