As a long term Verizon customer who also carries 9 devices on my plan, I am REALLY not happy about the way Verizon and Microsoft are unable to work together on the Windows platform. As a consumer who uses a Surface Tablet, used to carry Nokia, and now am using a HTC One with Windows on it; I want to start looking at upgrades. Verizon doesn't seem to be able to meet this with a high end device. I'm not interested in the lower quality handhelds for me, yes, for my kids, sure; but I want to benefit from all the new features. Guess it will be time to go to AT&T for a couple of my lines, which really sucks; but I feel Verizon is to iPhone and Android happy. I recall two years ago, Vz was onboard a 100%. I was so happy.
Come on Vz, what's the deal?

IamMK,
Thank you for being one of the few people who recognizes it takes TWO to make an agreement work.
I may not know the specifics of this business agreement, but we all know it is the carrier that can win over Apple, or an Android device, or a Microsoft deal. We're talking about 1 chip difference here, it isn't that hard people to install 1 electronic chip and to test it on a carrier!! I'm sure I'll be getting comments on the specifics of how an integration works with Verizon. Hey - wouldn't it be nice if Verizon actually responded with specifics on how, and then we showed this post to Microsoft and had them make a comment, I'll buy lunch for both representatives. Hamburgers? Pizza?
So yes, I'm still unhappy that Verizon has not gone to lunch with Microsoft on this yet.

I will be leaving Verizon due to their inability to support Windows phones. If Verizon does not want to carry Windows phone and it is apparent with their lineup of phones. You can also see other major carriers and the available phones. It is apparent I need a different carrier to meet my needs. Common sense just tells you what is right and what is wrong here.
You can go back and forth on who is to blame, but I am tired of being at the mercy of the carrier and get what they want me to have. I am the paying customer and I should be able to have options and be able to decide when I want something and when I don't.
Long live freedom of choice!

I just got done reading an article (trying to refind it) that basically said it was Verizon who will not allow the 950 family on their network, as such Microsoft removed the CDMA bands from the phone. From what I read, Verizon has blacklisted the phone and will not even allow an unlocked phone on their network. Going to find the link now

That article is FUD. It has a guy sharing in his vlog. It is already debunked simply for the fact he claims Verizob uses CDMA to authenticate devices which Verizon hasn't use for their LTE Devices for years. For 3G only device yes, but Verizon smartphones are not 3G and use the GSM way of authenticating. It complies with Block C open access rules. Microsoft could have done it on their own, but chose not to spend money on it. It's that simple. This device is the last device under the Lumina branding. Again short term with a long term goal (surface Phone line being the long term).
