I have owned and absolutely loved my Lumia 822 and now my Lumia 735. I have been waiting wit bated breathe for the Lumia 950 xl. I figure if the phones that I have been using for the last 2 1/2 years are considered mid level, then high end has to be off the hook. Now I read that VERIZON may not support a flagship WP 10 at all. If that is the case I would seriously consider switching carriers.

Yes. I want to order the 950 and 950xl. I will wait till November, but then I am going to buy them and use them on a carrier that supports them.

This is too funny. You have their undivided attention. FYI I copy and pasted both statements.

I think the translation is: We're going to string customers along as long as we can.
We just need to look back in history and see how VZW has dealt with Windows phones. Mostly low end, and then when they allowed the Icon, it was a debacle with Denim/Cyan and then they dumped it.

Is this a hint that Verizon will carry one of the 950s?

No John,
This is the same 'canned' bs response they've been handing out to us (Windows Phone) users for years.
The Windows Phones they currently 'offer' are not a 'premium' Windows Phone. They're old & antiquated.
'Read-my-lips' Verizon...We want a premium Windows Phone (950 XL), and we're tired of waiting.

Exactly. I have gone into many stores and asked them to push up the chain for a flagship Windows phablet. I have sent many e-mails to corporate execs saying the same thing. If I get a response other than buy an Android, it's that they have Windows devices and I should look at them and that there will be others in the future.

Sorry Verizon, I like your coverage, but I'm in a large metro area. I'm sure ATT will be fine. If you don't offer a phone with my preferred OS, I'm definitely ready to switch. And I'm grandfathered into unlimited data (HTC Trophy was my first smartphone). It's up to you.

If Verizon does not carry the Lumia 950 or 950XL, I'll move my five lines to a different carrier

If the specs are correct,
https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/1350928 it looks like VZW passed on the devices. I'll wait till November; when the devices are actually released to decide to jump ship or not. Microsoft didn't announce carriers at todays event so there might be a small glimmer of hope.

Now that I have searched more it looks like the rumors are that AT&T and T-Mobile get the phones first. I could not find whether Verizon will have a version later.

100% agreed. I have been supporting Windows Phone since Windows Phone 7 was announced and bought a device as soon as they were released. I have very much enjoyed my Windows Phone devices but been disappointed with my severely limited options with Verizon. I have been let down time and time again by Verizon's lack of support for Windows Phone by foolishly believing that things will change. With all the features that are packed into Windows 10 Mobile and these new devices I am no longer willing to compromise with. I truly believe Verizon has the best coverage and I would like to stay with them but when it comes down to it, it's not worth it. Coverage is obviously important but other networks still have very competitive coverage and I'm on a wi-fi network 90% of the time anyway.
So I'm sorry Verizon but you need to get it together or realize that you are going to loose customers. I will be getting a flagship Windows 10 Mobile device, even if that means switching over to AT&T.

sliblue,
I can let you know that there are many people wanting this phone. I can understand wanting to keep the upgraded model of the Lumia device. I have heard wonderful things about the 950 device. Even though we are not offering the device now, we have offered the two previous models with our service. Please check back with us periodically to see if the phone will be released on our network. We want to make sure that you have the device you really want.

SliBlue,
I appreciate your comment. Whether or not Verizon plans to offer the 950XL (or a VZW variant) will be irrelevant for many of us. The real question is if we purchase the 950XL unlocked, will we still get our Verizon Wireless services on the device?

Verizon, for what it's worth, the 950/950XL is at the top of my list for new devices to be deployed at my business. We deploy Windows desktop for users and having a Windows 10 interface and common applications across hardware platforms (PCs, tablets, laptops, and phones) is VERY appealing. The Lumia 950 seems to be a good solution for my corporate family and as a decision maker I am willing to look at any carrier that has the right products and services for my company. I hope Verizon offers the products and services we're looking for, which includes the 950/950XL.
Thanks!

Looks like AT&T is the exclusive. Small chances it'll end up on other carriers.
