I have owned and absolutely loved my Lumia 822 and now my Lumia 735. I have been waiting wit bated breathe for the Lumia 950 xl. I figure if the phones that I have been using for the last 2 1/2 years are considered mid level, then high end has to be off the hook. Now I read that VERIZON may not support a flagship WP 10 at all. If that is the case I would seriously consider switching carriers.

I'm on unlimited. Got it with my HTC Trophy and have been buying used phones ever since. Currently have the Icon. But now they companies seem to be offering higher days limits at more reasonable prices, I'm prepared to switch to ATT to get the 950xl if I have to.

I'm curious how many windows phone users have a grandfathered unlimited data plan. Is it costly for Verizon to provide network support? I could careless if Verizon sells it directly I just want it to work. Verizon lied to me about when I went off contract with the new plans and of course was told something completely different when I finally got off contract. T mobile will be cheaper for me. So it is what it is.
I still have my unlimited data plan..... I got it when I got the Samsung SCH-i600 and the unlimited data plan + 2000 text messages was only $20/month. If there is no flagship @Windows10 devices on VZW quickly, I won't hesitate to give up that plan.
(Side note: I often get calls from VZW people trying to get me off that plan and they always promise that they can lower my monthly bill..... Then they look up my plan and the stuttering and backpedaling starts.)

I'm currently using the Nokia 822 on Verizon. All of my devices, including tablets, phones, desktops, and laptops used for business, are now Windows 10. The Lumia 950xl is far better than anything else on the market, including the high end iPhone 6 Plus, which costs $300 more. I'm on no contract with Verizon, and prefer to stay that way with whatever carrier I'm on, so I'm willing to pay the $649 up front for the Lumia 950xl and switch to AT&T if needed. I prefer Verizon, but I'm gone if Verizon doesn't get onboard. The occasional negative comment about Windows phones only representing 3% of the US market doesn't take into consideration how fast things can change. The world computer market is 95% Windows. That's 1.5+ billion users, especially businesses, who don't want a mishmash of operating systems and devices when they can have one common OS for all devices, and at a reasonable price.

Count me in for 2 950XL's if they get released on Verizon, not to mention the potential for the installed base at the company I work for.
I've been using an 822 since it came out and it is the first phone that I have had literally zero issues with.
Verizon customer support asked what you wanted to do with a new phone. For me, it's Continuum, especially after seeing the demo. I believe that this may be a game changer in the business area. If our sales reps could go to a client site and connect their phone to the conference room equipment for presentations, that would be incredible. If I could walk around with my PC in my pocket and connect as needed wherever (on call 24/7/365) that would be awesome. Right now I have to carry my laptop in the trunk of my car and a mi-fi for connection. If the technology is available where I don't have to do that anymore, please allow me to use it Verizon. I'd really appreciate it. I might even buy you cookies.

I liked primortal's idea to tell it to the leadership so I sent a message of our dispair to David Small, executive vice president wireless operations . We will see if he actually responds and what he thinks. I know they don't care about a handfull of MS followers but maybe if we all sent him a message of our wishes, you never know , it might help

I also sent a message to Mr. Small.
Let's see how well Verizon really listens to its customers & if there's any response.
I'm betting not...other than the normal 'canned' one.

Well, after sending a rather lengthy email to Verizon Corporate, I received a phone call this morning in response.
The 'representative' basically told me that the 950/950 XL are not currently in their new device database, and that there is no mention of it being offered on their system. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that it or an equivalent phone won't be offered at some future point in time.
I've been getting that same speal from Verizon for years now, and with this latest information posted in the news today, Verizon's grandfathered unlimited data users face $20 price hike - CNET , this combination is the straw that broke the camels back.
I've got a local rep checking the specs of the 950/950 XL to see if it will work on their 3rd party wireless network, and if so, I'll be switching all my lines to them or AT&T as soon as these phones are released in November.

WOW oh WOW oh WOW!!!!
If they really do raise the price of my unlimited data plan, that is really the last string that kept me a VZW customer.
I went back and checked my bills and e-mails from VZW and I don't see any notification yet.

I sent a message to my regional Exec and she had her secretary call me and he said they can't say yet if they will have the phone or not, but they have an eye on Windows 10 and the MS phones. Sounded kind of promising...... Maybe they are working with MS to get a custom phone just for Verizon like the Turbo.

I'm out, I'll be moving to AT&T. Its too little too late. I don't *want* a Verizon custom version with apps I'll never use or even want. I want the version unmolested from Microsoft. If they don't know at this point what they are going to do, and say silly things like "we have an eye on Windows 10.. har har har...", you've already lost me, and I'm gone.
AT&T have already come out and made a statement the 950 will be on their network day one. That's all I need to hear.

What? All the apps VZW pre-loads can be uninstalled in seconds. You think AT&T doesn't preload apps on their Windows Phone??

Paul Thurrott just said on Windows Weekly that Windows phone is "out on Verizon". I would say its pretty clear. Its not happening anytime soon.

Then I guess Paul Thurrott speaks for VZW and Microsoft. VZW might as well lock all these threads from further discussion....
Corporate Business changes it's mind at the drop of a hat. At the time Paul's recording of that statement Microsoft could have struck a bargain with VZW..,
It's Microsoft best interest to get these phones on as many US carriers a possible. Microsoft can turn on the network/bands used by VZW for unlocked phones and VZW can't do anything about it.

I agree.. If VZW does finally come out with a customized version that they added all their own crippleware to, I won't use it. Could you imaging if our ISPs demanded that we buy computers from them with their own hacked versions of an OS?

I think for many of us discussing this here in the Windows Phone forum, you basically have until the 950 & 950XL is released next month. If VZW hasn't announced something by then,.... well, we did warn you. We asked you... we begged you....

Unfortunately, I'm with SickFreak. I plan to preorder as soon pre-orders begin. If I don't hear any news from Verizon, I'm switching carriers. If Verizon does decide to support the 950 series, it will definitely need to be soon. I don't plan to wait several months only to find out I need to wait another several months before the phone I actually want is available.
