Will my new Lumia 928 work with a normal wireless router attached to my modem for my PC?

I just got a new Lumia 928 and there are updates but I can't seem to link to a WIFI , do I need a separate router to get online in my apt?

Hello the1donnat! We definitely want to make sure you are able to connect properly to your homes wifi. Lumia connects to the same wireless router all your other wireless devices connect to. Are you receiving any error messages when you try to connect the Lumia to it?
