I upgraded this weekend to windows 10 mobile. I can no longer send or receive group text messages.

Can anyone point me to a fix or solution to this problem?

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I performed a factory reset and it not only cleared up the MMS group text issue, but the many other issues I was having with the upgrade.

At the moment, Windows 10 mobile is operating fine.

Go to Settings > System > Messaging and make sure MMS group text is set to On.

Thanks for the response.

Actually that was one of the first things I looked at.

MMS is set to On, but it still does not work.

Any other suggestions?

Is there anyone in this forum experiencing the same issue?

Or better yet, is there anyone using a Lumia Icon running Windows 10 that has group text working?

I have the Icon running Windows 10, but as I despise group texting to begin with I have never tried to send out a group message nor do I recall ever receiving one on that phone.

Sorry you're locked out... Did you do a SIM lock before you got locked out (not familiar with puk code)? I know if it was a SIM lock you can login to Verizon and get your reset code for that...

Otherwise, I have the Lumia Icon with Windows Insider set to slow ring and have been getting build after build of Windows 10 mobile without problems with MMS messages.

Yes, I just get the word "Download" on incoming messages.  Then, when I press the message, nothing happens/downloads.

Does the MMS message not download while connected to the 4G LTE network?

I regret to see there is still an issue with group messaging after the reset. Do you have access to the internet?

Please disable WiFi and also test the internet to see if that works.

Has there been any progress with this issue yet?  I've tried the factory reset several times and always have to go back to Windows 8.1 because I rely on group text so much (Disappointing because Windows 10 Mobile feels superior to 8.1 in every way, with the exception of this very basic feature being totally broken).  Group and picture messages worked fine for me while I was on the preview program before the Windows 10 upgrade was officially available for the Lumia Icon, but hasn't worked since.

The factory reset (following a back up to my Microsoft OneDrive account) yielded a number of minor fixes including group messaging working...sort of.  MMS attachments will now download and I can do group messaging.  But,  a second conversation thread opens up with confirmation messages of received messages from people in the group thread.  Strange.  Not sure if it's a setting issue.  But, Microsoft, Verizon or whoever, needs to completely fix the problem.  It's basic functionality the people depend heavily on.

Thohar67, I am disappointed to hear that this continues to be an issue for you. Are you able to send an MMS or is it only downloading? Are you using the stock messaging app or another third party related application?

I'm unable to send MMS either, or pictures.  Data doesn't work with the messaging app due to the wrong APN and an inability to manually enter or save that on Lumia Icon phones.  This is with the standard messaging app.

DReihl9896_ we want your picture messages to work for you. Let's keep working on this. Are you able to access LTE data still when you are having this issue? Lets make sure your data roaming is on. Please go to settings-networks and wireless-cellular and sim-data roaming please change to roam. Please keep us updated on how this works for you.

My picture messages currently work because I rolled my device back to 8.1.  This solution is less than ideal, because the Windows 10 Mobile OS is superior in almost every way, except for MMS and picture messages which is a deal breaker because I rely on MMS quite a bit.  I can tell you that data worked for other apps.  I can use the internet with the browser and stream music and videos.  The messages app just doesn't work for MMS.  This isn't an isolated issue.  It seems to effect the Lumia icons specifically.  In trying to find a fix, I've seen the issue pop up in lots of different forums.  People seem to have narrowed down the problem down as being related to the APN.  The default is not set to the correct settings and the editing it with the correct information doesn't work, because it doesn't save.  One individual was sent multiple new phones and tried a new sim card, but the same issue cropped up every time.  I also don't think it is isolated to the Verizon network because I've read of people having the same issue with unlocked Lumia Icons on other networks.  I can also say that I used Windows 10 mobile for months before the official rollout as part of the Insider Preview program and messaging worked fine right up until Verizon pushed out the official WIndows 10 mobile update.  Since then, I've tried every setting I could think of, soft resets, factory resets, and have gone back and forth between Windows 8.1 and 10 mobile several times hoping that new updates have solved the problem.  Nothing seems to work.

I am in the same boat with the same phone.  I was on the insider fast ring with everything working just fine.   I downloaded Garmin Connect app which kept crashing.  I wanted to see if it was the phone so I reset and restored the phone.  The Garmin application turns out to be poorly written.  When I got my phone up and running again, my MMS/group messages weren't working anymore.

I reset the phone again but no luck.  I then used the windows recovery tool and it rolled back to 8.1.  MMS started working again but only as long as I stayed on 8.1.  I upgraded to 10 using the normal upgrade path and it once again broke my MMS.  A newer Windows 10 build came to the fast ring so I switched back to the fast ring, hoping it would fix the issue. It did not.

There is something wrong with the last few builds.  Very irritating

If you are on the Insider preview, why don't you report the issue through the Insider's feedback app?

I have reported it numerous times on the insider app. I'm waiting for that fix and was hoping someone here might have a workaround.

Nagolt, you came to the right source for help.  Group text messaging should be the least of your worries when using your phone.  Do you receive an error message when attempting to send or receive a group message?  Are you connected to Wi-Fi or our network when sending/receiving group text messages?  Keep us posted so that we can further assist.

Zetabean,

It is never fun to be locked out of your phone. You can find your PUK code  in your My Verizon account. Here are the steps. http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/manage-bua-online-htug/
