Once again, it seems Verizon is the last to provide phone updates.
When can we expect GDR3 for the HTC 8X?

Yes, but we're all wondering why we're waiting. AT&T and Sprint have both already released GDR3, and the other carriers on the other continents are all caught up as well. It seems Verizon should at least be on par with the others, rather than consistently behind. If there is some reason we're waiting, then it might make sense to communicate that. Verizon should at least explain why it is always the last to cross the finish line.

Verizon is a hoorible service. that's why we are waiting. I have been on the phone daily with this texting issue. they have absolutely no knowledge about their phones. they no help what so ever. at this point im considering just leaving them and going to at&t or sprint. and i sell their service and they will not be getting a recommendation to customers from me.

My issue on the wait is, I am having more than just a messaging issue, I am have reception loss, missed calls. texts, bluetooth issues, etc. Before I updated to the GDR2 release under Verizon, I had zero issues. When the update came to the phone, there was a radio update, and I believe this is the main problem.
My question is, is there a radio fix in the works when released?
Thanks,
E

Will I gave it a week with the New GDR3 update to the phone.
Well things have not improved since the update. I still have difficulty connecting to the tower, bluetooth issues, drooped calls, etc etc... With the Bluetooth, the phone just drops the connection or has difficulty connection. Only if I cycle the on/off does my bluetooth connect or reconnect. The random garbling has lessened, and now the dropping/non connection has taken place. For 5 months, renting a place, I have had zero issues with receiving/calling or texting from the location. Since I did the update to GDR2, a radio update was applied, though I did not notice another radio update to GDR3. I am still randomly getting the "can't send" for texting, though has lessen currently, but still getting this issue.
Added more to the problem with the connectivity, data drop-age occurs (because the phone drops to 1x) and if rebooting the phone does the LTE come back full strength, or if going through a dead spot the phone does not regain LTE connection till a reboot.. Another new issue that has come, the charging LED showed charged, but the phone battery icon showed 15%. Only when I rebooted the phone did the icon show fully charged. I would love to know how to get my phone back to GDR1 and the radio pre-GDR2. The phone was perfect, and now it is defective. Like Android or especially Apple, there should have been a way to recover all aspects of the phone.
I am disappointed with Verizon and even HTC for providing me a phone that is close to a bricked device.

I have been having similar problems since installing the GDR2 update - the phone has been forgetting WiFi networks, dropping cell signal, rebooting itself, etc. Please get the GDR3 update out soon to address these!

This response is simply ridiculous . . .
Good things come to those who wait? Really? What is so great about listen to my other buddies with the latest WP8 update and its features while I sit back with nothing to show or say? Again . . Verizon Wireless is the last of the major carriers to give us GDR3.
As for the link you supplied . . it gives no information on updates, it's just a generic Verizon news site.
You guys can do better.

I too have poor bluetooth connectivity since GDR2. Even worse, the phone thinks it's connected to the car long after I've left the vehicle. That means all my calls get routed to a nonexistent bluetooth connection unless I remember to manually reset it.
I've been to the Microsoft Store, and they say it's a Verizon/HTC problem. Verizon says my phone's under warranty, but they'll only replace it with an identical item. I need to get this fixed (GDR3) or I'll need to switch carriers. My phone contract & warranty are up in a few days, and I'm EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED with Verizon.

Major_Payne, good things come to those that wait. Stay tuned for information regarding upcoming software updates here: http://bit.ly/n5snpq Meanwhile, let's take a closer look at the issues that you're experiencing with your device. Try deleting all unwanted text messages, call logs, and e-mails. You should also uninstall any unwanted applications on your device, as well. Once you power your device off/on, I trust that your device will perform better. Keep us posted.

So by good things I'm to take it as we have to wait for our phones to get the text messaging bug fixed with GDR3?
In the meantime we are supposed to suck it up and keep on wasting time etc. cause the phone has been unreliable since GDR2?
As far as your other suggestions. The phone as been reset wiped etc more than once since GDR2 to try to make it even half way reliable.
It's sad that we are told this scripted stuff when it's a bug in the last update that is causing the problem for all of us.
Your link doesn't mention anything about a release date for GDR3 for my phone either so not sure what the goal there was.
If I come across as frustrated it is because I am. I've been a Verizon customer along time and this is the first phone I've had to suffer through months of issues waiting for Verizon to fix the bugged release they put out.

The battery on my 8X is draining much faster since GDR3 was installed. The Battery Pro+ is showing a 3%/hour drop with the phone just sitting idle. I can't imagine how bad the drain would be if I actually used the phone.
Can someone from Verizon step up and see what is causing the drain? Did WiFi break and it's eating battery trying to reconnect? Or is it some new background process?
