backup assistant will not launch

I just received my replacement lumia 928 after my external speaker went out on my old 928. Now the backup assistant will not launch to import my contacts. I continuously get an error message saying to try again at a later time. Any help is appreciated!

Let's get you contacts onto your device. Do you receive this message as soon as you open Backup Assistant or when you try to enter in your password? What software version are you running on your device? Settings>About.
