Yes, via your on-line MyVerizon account; you can block up to five numbers free for 90 days (they can be re-blocked every 90 days if necessary).

This is great news!
Now I can block that stupid New York (212 area code) number that I probably can't post here because it will probably be deleted by the moderator, even though the number is posted all over the Internet as a scam. It ends in 5501.
Thank you, mizzg1120, tikibar1, and Verizon.

That option to block a number mentioned by tikibar1 has been available for several years now.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Hello mizzg1120!
Thanks to the community members for letting you know! Yes, you can block unwanted calls/messages. We actually have two options for you. The Call and Message Block feature allows you to block up to five numbers for no charge for up to 90 days (you can re-block after the 90 days is up): http://bit.ly/Oc5swU
We also offer a permanent blocking feature called Usage Controls. It allows you to block up to 20 numbers permanently (these numbers can be changed as well), along with many other features. Check it out here: http://bit.ly/RY6zfW
Thanks very much and I hope this helps!
