I've had no problems downloading photos off a Convoy using the USB cable. When you connect the phone and computer via the cable, do you allow the drivers to load? Are you then not seeing the device recognized by the computer at all?
Additional info. can be found here, although I wouldn't recommend the Verizon on-line album since a number of folks are having issues accessing the site and finding their photos.

Your charging cable should be able to plug into the PC and if you have windows, a window will pop up that should allow you to move them (click and drag) to a folder on your computer. If you have a mac, and an iphone, it should be pretty seamless.
If you don't have a cable by itself, look at a micro USB cable from walmart, bestbuy, newegg.com, ebay.

Hi margaretmaggie. I know how important it is to back up those memories from your phone. To get you the best available steps, we'll just need to know what make and model phone you are using along with if you have a SD card and/or a USB cable for the phone. With those details, we'll be able to help you find the steps you need.
Thank you

Basic phones usually do not connect for USB transfer to PC for your photos.
Normally you have to either email them to yourself one by one. Or you can send as the poster above stated in a text/MMS message to another person who has a smart phone and can get them that way. You might also be able to use the Bluetooth method but you must read you owners manual to see what options are available.
Good Luck
