pantech caper problems

i bought my phone about 6 months ago. within the last few weeks i noticed picture files (that had been sent via text and saved) were now suddenly broken files. by chance i found out it was only doing it to pictures from that came from one person. i could still save and keep text pictures from at least one other source. now i can no longer take my own pictures with the phones camera. it just comes up and says "error" with no specifics. is there something that can be done or is it time to get a new phone? also something that may be unrelated ive had a spike in the amount of failed to send texts that happen.
