turn off alert for text messages

I have used the menu to turn off ringtones for text messages, yet the phone continues to ring each time. What am I missing?

We know having the device settings just perfect is important. What make/model device do you have? When did the issue start? Is the issue only for text message?

I have just recently downloaded the Message+ app on my tablet and am also using it on the desktop computer. When husband has the cell phone (we share) it is annoying to him to have it ring for text messages. I have gone to the menu and used the alert tone option. I have turned the text options to "no sound." However, the phone continues to ring when text messages are received.

Having the device receive unwanted notifications can be a major nuisance, let’s dive a little deeper and find a solution Karengb! What is the make/model of the phone that is being used? Are you looking to just silence the notifications for the text messages but allow others such as phone calls? Was there a similar issue with the previous messaging application that was being used?
