unable to send or receive text mesages

I just changed my plan last week to include texting. however I am unable to send or receive any messages When I send  It reports message failed

I'd be lost without my text messaging! Let's get this up and running for you. Were you able to text before the plan change? Are there any other Verizon Wireless customers having the same issue? Also, what type of device do you have?
