voicemail icon not displayed for 735

I have a 735 that will not display the Verizon voicemail icon

May I ask are you accessing your voice mail by calling *86 or are you using a voice mail app? Can we assume that standard text messaging is working on your Nokia 735? When did you start having issues wth hte noticiation?
